Knorr-Bremse is one of the leading manufacturers of braking systems for rail- and commercial vehicles. The live communication agency Uniplan developed a booth for Knorr-Bremse on the IAA in Frankfurt. They tasked us with building a “floating” Sculpture of a truck. Knorr´s booth at the IAA Commercial Vehicle fair included a sculpture of a truck concept “hovering” above their technical components. With its abstract and futuristic surfacing, the sculpture became an eye catcher, capturing the visitor´s attention.
Our team of model makers and designers brought this vision to life. Our goal was to realize the sculptures complex surfacing while keeping the assembly as simple as possible. A wooden substructure ensured the stability without abandoning the desired appearance of hovering lightness. The frame was then covered with a bi-directional hi-tech fabric. Our close co-operation between model makers and designers ensured the quick and successful realization of this project.
